Factores de riesgo que inciden en la prevalencia puntual de anaplasmosis en perros en una zona urbana del norte de Manabí

2019
The purpose of this work was to carry out a study of the risk factors that affect the presence of anaplasmosis in dogs in the urban area of northern Manabi. For this, a random sampling was carried out in which four urban sectors of Calceta city (Santa Marta, Santa Lucia, Ines Moreno and San Lorenzo) were selected. A total of 206 dogs were sampled which were subjected to laboratory analysis with the blood smear technique to detect the presence of anaplasmosis. The data was analyzed and processed qualitatively and quantitatively by means of the SPSS statistical software (2015). The variables in studies were: habitat, food, vaccination plan, veterinary medical control and deworming plan. Of the total dogs sampled, 74.27% were positive (153 cases). Of which 41.27% correspond to males and 33.00% females. Among the main risk factors that had an impact on the presence of anaplasmosis in dogs, they found habitat corresponding to animals that had free access to exteriors of the house with 65.00%, the type of food formed by household waste reported 54.00 %, the lack of medical controls revealed 93.00%, and the deficient application of antiparasitic plans achieved 65.00% of positive cases of anaplasmosis. It is concluded that there is a prevalence of 74.00%, of cases positive to canine anaplasmosis in the Santa Marta, Santa Lucia, Ines Moreno and San Lorenzo sectors of the Calceta parish.
