‘reversibility‘ of PHTN did not portend improved 30-day survival. 45 (17%) patients received inhaled nitric oxide (NO) perioperatively. Conclusions: These findings likely reflect several programmatic changes at our hospital since 1994: (1) the widespread application of preoperative phosphodiesterase inhibition and beta-blockade, (2) early LVAD intervention, (3) bicaval anastomosis at transplant, and (4) the liberal application of perioperative NO. Although still an important clinical parameter of transplant candidacy, PHTN no longer confers a marked impact on 30-day mortality for patients undergoing CTx. Baseline PHIs
