It is highly desirable for current ship’s insulation composite panels to reduce its weight; therefore a lighter material for skin is necessary. Here, the honeycomb structure is suggested for which excels in strength of the material and in its weight, compared to steel plates. In this paper, the interface matrix of honeycomb composite panel has been derived by the governing equation of a honeycomb sandwich panel. The interface matrix of honeycomb is added to the previously developed transfer-matrix method, thus predictions of sound transmission loss for the standard panel with honeycomb and mineral wool are accomplished. From this approach, a software program has been built to solve sound transmission loss of ship’s composite panels.
