Research on the cutting texture by turn-mill process

In recent years, turn-mill process using turn-mill complete machining centers have been attracting attention in difficult to cut materials processing such as aircraft manufacturing field. Turn-mill process can be machined at high speed and high efficiency; however, produced surface has a specific spiral texture and then has larger surface roughness. Therefore, there is a problem that can be used only for roughing. Also cutting parameters are so many, and influence on the processed surface is complicated. Therefore, there is few processing case report at present. In this study, to control a specific texture that appears on the cutting surface by using different types of cutting tools with adjusting many cutting parameters. Also the influence of cutting parameters on cutting texture is investigated.
