Specifying self‐recognition: peptides lead the way

2007
This article presents a commentary on a paper by B. P. Kemp and J. Doughty on the nature of the regions of S-receptor kinase (SRK). According to the authors, Kemp and Doughty present important data that move the story significantly forward. They claim that the paper shed light on the nature of the regions of SRK that are involved in haplotype-specific recognition. They also assert that the most novel aspect of the paper is the strategy of using a peptide array. The authors conclude that the significance of the work is potentially broader than providing a better understanding of SI receptor-ligand interactions.
