Contraception population and health [editorial]

1994
The 1994 International Conference on Population and Development generated awareness of the interrelationships among contraception reproductive health population dynamics and quality of life issues. Special emphasis was placed on the need to provide women especially those in developing countries with a broader choice of contraceptive methods while at the same time protecting their reproduction-related human rights and promoting male participation in fertility regulation decisions. This issue of "Current Opinion in Obstetrics and Gynecology" presents state-of-the-art updates on developments in several areas discussed at the Cairo Conference including new contraceptive technology.
