Analysis on the Organization and Management of Thirteen Hospital Ethics Committees in Shanghai

The organization,operational management,ethical review and consultation,and bioethics training of thirteen Hospital Ethics Committees(HECs) in Shanghai were analyzed after a questionnaire survey of these HECs.The study showed that overall functions of thirteen HECs in Shanghai were quite well,but operational management of the HECs were relatively weak and there were big differences in operational status among different HECs.It suggested that HECs in Shanghai should enhance the bioethics training and improve operational management,and suggested that the HECs in specialized district hospitals of Shanghai should be paid attention.
