The analysis of multipole axial flux reluctance resolver with sinusoidal rotor

2012
Because of the axial magnetic circuit structure and special variable reluctance principle, axial flux reluctance resolver has the advantages of compact, small in volume and constant input/output impendence. There are often two kinds of reluctance resolvers: one's reluctance is changed with the length of the airgap and the other's is changed with the airgap coupling area. In this paper, a novel multipole axial flux variable-reluctance resolver is presented, it can improve the resolution of rotor angle and the ability of anti-eccentricity compared with the one pole pair axial resolver. Because of its unsymmetrical structure, 3D FEM time stepping method is used in this paper to obtain the EMF waves in signal windings. The conclusion of FEM analysis proves the correctness of the design of the multipole axial flux reluctance resolver.
