Filter apparatus with torque limitation

A filter apparatus is described which has a torque limiting device which may be a coupling device which provides a protective function for a filter to protect a filter from a solid to tightening, whereby damage to the filter components can be prevented. The coupling device can eliminate or reduce the need for torque measurement of certain filter components. The coupling device can be located on a liquid filter, a filter head which engages in the fluid filter, or a combination of liquid filters and filter head.
