A CONVENIENT METHOD FOR THE REDUCTION OF OXIME ETHERS TO THE CORRESPONDING AMINES

Sodium acyloxyborohydrides, [NaBH3 (OCOR)], prepared from an equivalent mol sodium borohydride and various carboxylic acids in tetrahydrofuran reduced oxime ethers to the corresponding amines. Particularly sodium trifluoroacetoxyborohydride gave best results.
