Analysis of Genetic Relationship Between High-oil and Normal Maize Inbred Line Using SSR Markers

2011
The genetic relationships among 10 high-oil maize inbred lines and the 21 normal maize inbred lines that belonging to different heterotic groups were analyzed using 120 pairs of SSR primers. The results showed that a total of 429 alleles were detected. The average number of alleles per SSR locus was 3.56.The polymorphism information content(PIC) for the SSR loci varied from 0.12 to 0.85,and the genetic distance ranged from 0.10 to 0.72 with an average of 0.573.The result of cluster analysis showed that there was obvious genetic difference between the two kinds of inbred lines. The genetic distances between high-oil inbred and all normal maize inbred, and each cluster of normal maize inbred lines were all great. For the normal maize inbred lines, the result corresponded to previous practice in maize breeding in most cases, with all the parents of elite normal crosses in different clusters.
