Dirhenium(I) hexacarbonyl complexes bridged by 1,2,3-triazole ligand: Synthesis, structural and spectroscopic characterization

2017
Abstract Dinuclear hexacarbonyl complexes [Re 2 (CO) 6 ( μ -Cl)( μ -OMe)( μ - 3 )] ( 4a ) and [Re 2 (CO) 6 ( μ -OEt) 2 ( μ - 3 )] ( 4b ) containing a bridging 1,2,3-triazole ligand were synthesized in acceptable yield by refluxing the triazole ligand 3 and two equivalents of [Re(CO) 5 Cl] in methanol. 4b was characterized by IR, 1 H and 13 C NMR, mass spectrometry, UV–Vis spectroscopies as well as single crystal X-ray diffraction and computational study. While the emission of complex 4b was very weak, it represents an original example of dinuclear species in which a 1,2,3-triazole ring is bound to two rhenium in low oxidation state.
