Transport Efficiencies and Performance Indicators

IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee MEPC (IMO 2009a) developed measures to enhance energy efficiency in international shipping and thereby reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These are technical and operational measures as well as possible market-based instruments. The following indicators were introduced:
