Providing Technical and Economic Indicators for Assessing the Performance of Electricity Market Offices at the Level of Distribution Companies

With the implementation of the law of independence of distribution companies, a new role in the distribution body as an economic entity, along with other tasks in the service and the provision of stable and reliable electricity to consumers, was formed. Currently, more than a decade, the presence of distribution companies in the electricity market of Iran, accounts for more than 70% of the total costs of the distribution company for the purchase of electricity. Efficient and effective management of the firm is a continuous and dynamic process. Effective implementation of processes involves monitoring performance indicators and adopting and executing management decisions in a timely manner. Assessing performance is one of the important and influential factors in this process that executives accomplish for achieving the goals of the organization. Unfortunately, so far, for the electricity market sector in the distribution companies, performance measurement indicators have not been formulated and reported. In this paper, some of the most important indicators for assessing the technical and economic activities of the electricity market are based on technical knowledge, practical experience, and their effectiveness assessment, which, given their applicability and the results obtained, can be used to solve the electricity market issues in distributed companies.
