Expression of COX-2 mRNA in rat aortic endothelial cells in high glucose environment

The expression of cyclooxy genase-2 (Cox-2) in endothelial cells (ECs) was determined. These cells were from aorta of diabetic rat and SD rats, cultured in vitro with high glucose. High glucose increased COX-2 mRNA expression both in rat aortic ECs cultured in vitro and in vivo,which was inhibited by aspirin treatment.
