There are many reports on the treatment of water retention in patients with adVanced renal failure with "loop" diuretics (1,2) but there are no reports on their use in CAPD patients. Therefore, we studied the possibility of increasing the residual diuresis in CAPD patients by the administation of "loop" diuretics in high doses. Two diuretics, i.e. muzolimine (Edrul, Bayer) and furosemide (Lasix, Hoechst) were administered in the same patients for comparison.
