Deexcitation and recombination of excited ions involving doubly excited states in dense recombining plasma: Lithiumlike ion x‐ray laser

We have assessed enhancement of deexcitation and recombination rate coefficients for lithiumlike excited ions in dense plasma. The former process is caused by ladder‐like excitation or deexcitation processes through a doubly excited level of beryllium‐like ions, and the latter is approximately by collisional‐radiative recombination process for hydrogenic ions. We include these processes into our collisional‐radiative model for lithiumlike ions, and calculate the gain of recombining lithiumlike aluminum x‐ray laser.
