A biblioteca virtual como instrumento de educação médica

The advent of Information and Communication Technologies has provided great advances in education that favored the application of new teaching approaches among which distance learning. To be a different kind of education, requires institutions that offer distance learning courses investments in new tools that enhance their students in improving their skills and competencies. The articulation of the information and communication technologies to the librarianship filed expertise allowed building a mechanism to optimize the information storing and availability process that extrapolate the virtual libraries own goals.  It aims to present the Virtual Library of the Nucleo de Educacao em Saude Coletiva da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, originated from the necessity  of disseminate the scientific literature produced in the activity scope of the members involved in this teaching, research and extension nucleus.
