Application of Achilles′s tendon avulsion by ultrasonography

Objective: To evaluate the use of ultrasonography in the diagnosis of Achilles's tendon avulsion injuries through learning the sonograms of high frequency in it.Methods: Sixteen patients with Achilles′s tendon avulsion were analyzed by high frequency ultrasoundography and compare with that in normal side.Results:The sonograms of the ruptured portion are changed with time.Conclusion: Injured Achilles′s tendon have their characteristic ultrasonography manifestations with different period,so Ultrasound examination is a valuable tool to diagnose the injured Achilles′s tendon.
