Expression of human β-Defensin-2(hBD-2) mRNA in mucosa of cervicitis patients due to Mycoplasma infection

Objective To investigate expression of human β-Defensin-2(hBD-2) mRNA in mucosa of cervicitis patients due to Mycoplasma infection.Methods The expression of hBD-2 mRNA in 15 cervicitis patients infected with Mycoplasma was investigated by using RT-PCR and the results were compared with 10 normal controls.Results Human beta-defensin 2 mRNA was expressed in all cervicitis with Mycoplasma infection.Conclusion HBD-2 might be involved in the pathogennesis of cervicitis in patients with mycoplasma infection.
