An attempt toward blood grouping in thin bone sections: Preliminary report

1978
Artificial ageing procedures (burying, etc.) were applied to bones from individuals of known blood groups; these bones were then subjected to grouping according to the method of fluorescent antibodies (Lengyel & Nemeskeri, 1964) . After incubation with fluorescent antibodies, histologic sections exhibit a very weak fluorescence, which is interfered with by both fibrous connective tissue and bone autofluorescence, which can likewise be detected in bone sections unexposed to fluorescent antibodies.
