An assessment of different scale control methods

Abstract Distillation plants, operating at least partially well above ambient temperature, must be protected against scaling. In principle, this can be achieved by a number of different processes -practically however only a few proved successful so far. In this paper, eight selected scale control methods are examined and assessed.
