The invention discloses a format conversion method for 3DS model file loading through an OSG three-dimensional engine. The method comprises the following steps that structure information of a three-dimensional model is read; a three-dimensional model grid information data link table is generated by grid information of the 3DS three-dimensional model, and then a base structure of the OSG three-dimensional engine is generated through OSG three-dimensional engine reading; the effect of the three-dimensional model is read; and a material reading queue and an illumination information array are generated through material and illumination information of the 3DS three-dimensional model, then the base structure of the OSG three-dimensional engine is generated via conversion through OSG three-dimensional engine reading, illumination is enhanced and material information is adaptively modified according to the requirements, and finally an illumination model is rendered and loaded again through the OSG three-dimensional engine and the effect of the three-dimensional model is recovered. Problems of the current generally applied 3DS model file loading method adopting the OSG three-dimensional engine that the loaded model is incomplete and the rendering effect is lost are solved by the method.
