Camsylate amorphous amlodipine, prepared by dissolving camsylate crystalline amlodipine in an organic solvent selected from the group comprising acetone, methanol, ethanol, acetonitrile, tetrahydrofuran, dioxane, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, methylene chloride, chloroform and mixture thereof, and removing the solvent from the resulting solution.
