Rola wywiadu w diagnostyce ostrego zespołu wieńcowego w warunkach podstawowej opieki zdrowotnej — opis przypadku 61-letniej kobiety z niestabilną dławicą piersiową

Acute coronary syndrome is one of the most common causes of chest pain in adults. We report a case of 61-year-old female, who presented to her primary care physician with chest pain. Despite temporary character of symptoms, normal standard 12-lead resting ECG, lack of rising serum levels of myocardial necrosis biomarkers and no regional wall motion abnormalities in transthoracic echocardiography, on the basis of proper history taking, including risk factors of coronary artery disease, coronary angiography was done, which showed high-grade narrowing of left anterior descending artery, resulting in prompt qualification for coronary artery bypass graft procedure. It should be stressed that proper history taking, which includes risk factors of coronary artery disease, is of utmost importance for correctly diagnosing acute coronary syndrome in primary care, which allows rapid initiation of treatment.
