The invention relates to the application of resveratrol in the preparation of a composition for preventing and/or treating systemic lupus erythematosus. The animal disease models prove that the resveratrol has an obvious effect of preventing and/or treating the systemic lupus erythematosus and also has the effect of reducing the occurrence frequency of erythema, the urinary protein, the glomerular capillary loop cell proliferation, the infiltration of inflammatory cells and the glomerular IgM or IgG deposition.
