Couplage Flux-Expert / Fluent : application à la modélisation 3D d'un électrolyseur à production d'hydrogène

2007
Westinghouse hydrogen Electrolyser are electrochemical devices with a stack of anode and cathode separated by a membrane. Coupled physical phenomena are effective in such systems. We have developed a general model based on the coupling of two codes Fluent ® (Finite volumes) and Flux-Expert ® (Finite elements). The first is used for the resolution of thermo-hydraulic equations with two-phase flows and the second for electrical equations with potential discontinuity at electrodes boundaries. The voltage step on boundary is modelled by interfacial finite elements. In a non linear algorithm automatic exchange of physical information between each module are executed by a messages exchange library. Interpolation of physical quantities (heat source , current densities, temperatures, gas fraction,...) from one mesh to another are done after localization of calculation points on surfaces or volumes on each domains.
