Regulations of alpha and gamma interferons on the expression of interleukin 6 receptors on human myeloma cell line

1998
Using indirect immunofluorescent and flow cytometric techniques, regulations of alpha and gamma interferons on the expression of interleukin 6 receptors on human myeloma cell line, KM3 were analysed. The results showed that both alpha and gamma interferons could down-regulate the expression of interleukin 6 receptors on KM3 in dose-dependent manner. According the results, alpha interferon at the dose of 200 U/ml made interleukin 6 receptor positive cells reduce from 42.1% to 13.1%, while gamma interferons at the dose of 1 000 U/ml had the same inhibitory effects as alpha interferon at dose above.
