Voltage Control of a Stand-Alone Cascaded Doubly Fed Induction Generator

2019
This paper studies the cascaded doubly fed induction machine, operating as a brushless variable speed constant frequency generator supplying an isolated load. In isolated electric supply, the amplitude and frequency of the output voltage of the generator should be stabilized during the speed and/or load changing. Despite the complexity of the generator model, a simple indirect field-oriented vector control is elaborated to meet the output voltage requirements. Experimental results validate the proposed control approach. The study is extended to reveal the behavior of the controlled system under unbalanced load.
