EFEITO DA POLINIZAÇÃO POR ABELHAS NA PRODUTIVIDADE DE FEIJÃO (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)

Phaseolus vulgaris is an important cultivated specie in Zona da Mata Mineira. This species show mechanisms of self-fecundation that occur before or near the opening of flowers. However the service of pollination performed by wild bees can improve the productivity and quality of fruits and seeds. The aim of this work was to known the bee fauna visiting flowers of P. vulgaris and quantify the importance of pollination service. This study was carried out in Instituto Federal de Educacao, Ciencia e Tecnologia do Sudeste de Minas Gerais, Rio Pomba, Minas Gerais Satate in an cultivated area of 2.8 ha during the month of may 2012. Bees were collected with entomological nest in intervals of fifteen minutes to 7 until 16 hours. The individuals collected were identified and deposited on entomological collection of Laboratorio de Ecologia do IF Sudeste MG.
