A Computational Model For Surfactant TransportOn Deformable Two-phase Boundaries Based OnInterface Mollification

1970
A volume based formulation of the convective-diffusion equation for the transport of surface contamination on a moving and deforming interface is presented, and a solution procedure within the framework of the interface mollification techniques is described. Two idealized flow fields are used to demonstrate the capabilities of the technique for capturing the convective and diffusive mechanisms of surfactant transport, as well as deformationinduced dilutions resulting from changes in the local radius of curvature of the interface.
