Effect of fungicide treatment performed at T1 (BBCH 30–32) on health and yield of winter wheatWpływ stosowania fungicydów w fazie T1 (BBCH 30–32) na zdrowotność i plonowanie pszenicy ozimej

2015
Summary To reduce production costs and improve profitability of winter wheat some growers attempt to change the strategy of plant cultivation to semi-extensive farming, involving the usage of high yielding feed-industrial cultivars with improved tolerance to diseases and reducing the number of fungicide treatment. This strategy is profitable only if the growers choose resistant cultivars and correctly compose fungicides in the tank-mix for this single treatment. The aim of the study was to to evaluate severity of diseases occurring in winter wheat Rapsodia after a treatment at T1 (BBCH 30–32). The study was conducted at the Experimental Station for Variety Testing in Glubczyce (Opole Province) in the season of 2008/2009 and 2010/2011. Eleven tank mixtures of fungicides were tested. The least disease symptoms were observed after the use of tank mix composed of pikoksystrobin, tebuconazole, proqinazid and chlorotalonil. The results indicate that the selection of fungicides to a single treatment protection system is a very important factor determining high yields.
