Kutane Mikrosporidiose der Nase bei medikamentöser Immunsuppression

1999
Microsporidiosis is an infectious disease caused by an ubiquitous parasitic protozoa, founc predominantly in animals. Human microsporidiosis occurs typically in patients with an immunodeficiency, most frequently among those with HIV. Our patient showed iatrogenic immunosuppression from having taken corticosteroids for many years. Microsporidia can attack almost all organs. However cutaneous microsporidiosis as described in this paper has not previously been mentioned in literature. Little is known about therapy for human microsporidiosis In literature the most successful treatment to date has been - as in our case - through the use of anthelmintic albendazole.
