Investigation by nanosecond fiber laser for hybrid color marking and its potential application

2022
Abstract Color laser marking technology has been widely concerned because of its undeniable advantages such as high processing accuracy, good corrosion resistance and easy automation. The thermal deposition effect is better described by the improved formula, so that the desired surface color can be obtained by determining the injection energy value E . On this basis, the phenomenon of color hybrid marking on the surface of SUS304 stainless steel induced by nanosecond pulsed laser is studied theoretically and experimentally for the first time. The hybrid marking order has a significant effect on the final color of the sample. The coloring principle of laser-induced hybrid color marking (LHCM) was analyzed by field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The color change was evaluated objectively by using the spectrometer and the CIE color difference parameter Δ E ∗ a b . It is determined that the final color of the sample with laser hybrid color marking is mainly determined by the composite effect of oxide film interference and the intrinsic color of the film. The laser hybrid color irradiation scheme enriches the color palette and is used for color correction. This work has potential applications in the field of product identification, anti-counterfeiting and industrial design.
