The effect of LOX-1 in predicting the prognosis of acute stroke

2016
Objective The aim of this study is to inquire awareness of predictive value of LOX-1 to acute stroke patients. Methods 60 cases of acute stroke patients, including 49 patients with Ischemic stroke and 11 patients with hemorrhagic apoplexy, 30 healthy persons were selected as control group. Respectively, in patients with the third day, the 14th day, the 90th day, collecting blood of elbow vein, measuring the serum levels of LOX-1 by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, marking NIHSS score simultaneously. We analysed the relationship between LOX-1 level and NIHSS score , the size of this relationship. Results Serum LOX-1 concentrations of third day, 14th day and 90th day in the case group were compared with the control group. The result is that serum LOX-1 level in the case group were apparently higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05); The D-value of 14th days and third days NIHSS score was positively correlated with the change of LOX-1 concentration(γ=0.780, P=0.000), the D-value of 90th days and third days NIHSS score was positively correlated with the change of LOX-1 concentration(γ=0.378, P=0.003). Conclusion LOX-1 is a biochemical indicator which can predict the prognosis of patients with acute stroke. Key words: LOX-1; Stroke; Prognosis
