The invention relates to a polar plate (12) for a fuel cell (10), said polar plate (12) has an electrically insulating coating (13) with a layer thickness of less than 100 microns. Further, the invention relates to a fuel cell (10), having at least an inventive polar plate (12). In addition, the invention relates to a process for preparing the polar plate (12).
