Ultra-precision attitude control of a large low-orbital space telescope

Abstract Nonlinear methods of high-accuracy spatial attitude control for a flexible large-scale remote-sensing spacecraft are described. The effective damping of oscillations within such a flexible structure, using gyrodines (single gimbal control moment gyroscopes) with electromagnetic suspended rotors, is also developed. Ultra-precise image motion stabilization is achieved by moving image compensators in an onboard optical telescope.
