Apparatus for playing compact discs

The invention relates to a device for playing compact discs, in particular for motor vehicles, comprising a magazine (10) for a plurality of compact discs (20), removably accommodated in a housing (70), and a play unit (30), separated from the magazine (10), swingingly mounted in the housing (70), and which can be adjusted by an adjusting mechanism, for playing a compact disc (20) from the magazine (20). The invention is characterized in that the magazine (10) has a swivel mechanism, by means of which at least some of the compact discs (20) arranged in the slots (11) of the magazine (10) can be swung by a compact disc (20) that is on the play unit (30), thus forming a free swinging area between the compact disc (20) that is on the play unit (30) and is to be played, and the compact discs (20) in the slots (11) of the magazine (10).
