Angiotensin and cell growth: a link to cardiovascular hypertrophy?

1991
The possible role of angiotensin II as a growth factor or growth modulator, and its relationship to the development of cardiovascular hypertrophy as an initiating event of the vicious circle in organ damage, is an area of intensive research at the present time. The stimulatory effects of angiotensin II on certain oncogenes has opened up new vistas and novel methodological approaches which were previously more commonly used in basic cell biology and cancer research
