Summary Laboratory researches with imagines of Attagenus piceus showed that the animals lay down their eggs at the feeding place of the larvs. Their phototactic reaction makes them visit the light after deposition of the ova only. The number of ova of each female is relatively great, so that in a certain time a dense population is to be expected at infected spots. The number of deposited ova depends essentially upon the roughness of the underground. The males are capable of several copulations.
