Assembly study for HL-2M tokamak

2015
Abstract HL-2M tokamak is under construction in Southwestern Institute of Physics (SWIP). The center-post of toroidal field coil will be transferred form manufacture hall to device hall and installed onto the gravity support ring. The vacuum vessel is an integral welded torus which consists of 20 sectors with a large size, and it will be inserted downwards from top of center-post to its final position. Unconventional methods should be adopted for installation of big or huge parts, and special tools are designed for precise assembly such as upper sections of toroidal field coil with finger joints and outer sections with strictly electric contact requirements. The installation survey, conversion of survey benchmark, shim-bag technology for gap filling and electric isolation, thermal insulation for vessel body, etc. have been considered. Assembly scenarios and virtual assembly analysis were studied. The civil construction for device foundation has been finished, each subsystem is under developing. With the delivery of machine components, the assembly will be started.
