N‐Heterocyclic Carbene‐Mediated Hydroacylation—Sonogashira/Heck/Suzuki Coupling in a Single Pot: A New Cascade Reaction.

The hydroacylation of α-keto esters (I) with o-, m-, or p-iodobenzaldehydes (II) and the subsequent palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions with terminal alkynes, alkenes, or boronic acids is successfully performed in the same pot using an optimized N-heterocyclic carbene ligand.
