Towards new organometallic second-order nonlinear optical materials

Abstract We report on the synthesis of new organometallic donor-acceptor molecules for second-order nonlinear optics. They contain ferrocene as the donor group, cyano or tricyano-derivatized furan as the acceptor, and thiophene or 3,3′-bipyridine derivatives as π-bridge.
