Localized Outbreak of Brucellosis in Liberia.

1962
Summary This is a report of an outbreak in Liberia of brucellosis, a previously undiagnosed disease in this country. The outbreak had its origin in Guinea and its transport to Liberia was traced. Details are given in regard to signs, symptoms and laboratory findings, and conclusions are drawn in regard to diagnosis and virulence of the disease process. Cultural identification of the organism and species differentiation were not possible owing to lack of special media in an area where the disease had not previously been noted.
