Covering retardant liquid tooth cleaning gel

The invention relates to an aqueous, liquid tooth cleaning gel having a viscosity of less than 50 Pa.s (20 DEG C) and containing 10-20 wt.- % of a silicic acid polishing agent, 40-60 wt.- % of a moisturizer, selected from sorbite, glycerol, polyethylene glycol and mixtures thereof, 0.01-0.2 wt.- % of manganese in the form of a dissolved salt, and 0.01-1 wt.- % of an antimicrobial 5-amino-hexahydropyrimidine, and preferably a binder and a tenside combination of anionic, zwitterionic and non-ionic tensides. The inventive gels are translucent and have a plaque-controlling effect.
