The invention discloses a lithium titanate and carbon double-layer cladded silicon compound material, a preparation method and an application. The compound material comprises silicon, a carbon layer cladded on the exterior of the silicon and a lithium titanate layer cladded on the exterior of the carbon layer. The preparation method comprises the following steps: uniformly mixing monatomic silicon, carbon source, titanium oxide and lithium source and then calcining, thus obtaining the lithium titanate and carbon double-layer cladded silicon compound material which can be served as a cathode electrode material of the battery. According to the invention, the calcining temperature is reasonably controlled, the cladding of the carbon layer and the lithium titanate layer is completed and the impurities generated in the calcining process can be reduced. The volume change of the compound material provided by the invention under the charging/discharging state is small; the stability is high; the charging and discharging efficiency is high; when the compound material is applied to the battery, the safety and cycle life of the battery can be guaranteed.
