Phase-only antenna array control : the adaptive forming of nulls in the amplitude pattern of a prescribed shape

The prescribed amplitude pattern and adaptive nulls in a priori unknown directions are formed by means of phase-only control. Two fast iterative methods for solving this problem are proposed that are based on minimization of a functional involving requirements for the shape of a synthesized pattern and the measured noise power at the output of an antenna array. For both methods, the results of mathematical simulation of their operation are presented and analyzed.
