Learning and teaching science: The experience of pre-service primary teachers

Primary teacher education students from the Australian Catholic University (Strathfield campus) undertake professional experience in a variety of schools teaching various year groups and Key Learning Areas throughout their four years as undergraduates. In 2011 we were assigned to the same school for two placements. The second placement in September involved the four of us working in teaching-groups on 6 weekly visits with the express purpose of teaching a unit of science.
