Nuclear g factors and structure of the 7/sup -/ isomeric states in the isotopes /sup 186//sup ,//sup 188/Os and /sup 196//sup ,//sup 198/ Hg
1984
The method of differential and integral perturbed angular distributions has been used to measure the g factors of the 7/sup -/ states in the isotopes /sup 186//sup ,//sup 188/Os and /sup 196//sup ,//sup 198/Hg. The results are as follows: g(/sup 186/Os) = -0.032(20), g(/sup 188/Os) = -0.025(15), g(/sup 196/Hg) = -0.040(19), and g(/sup 198/Hg) = -0.030(15). The small value and the negative sign of the g factors indicates that the quasiparticle structure of these states is determined mainly by the rotationally aligned i/sub 13//sub ///sub 2/ neutron and a neutron with low j.
