Ternary C y Si 1-x-y Sn x Alloys for Low-Cost High-Efficiency Multi-Junction Solar Cells

Multi-junction photovoltaics is the necessity of the future solar cells to improve the conversion efficiency of the rapidly growing solar cell industry. Currently, single junction solar cells are dominating the market due to the high production costs of multijunction solar cells. In this research, ternary alloy of CSiSn is shown to be capable of producing multijunction solar cells with high efficiency on a Si substrate.
